Around 250 suppliers of wine, sparkling wine and champagne will exhibit at BioFach 2005 - for the first time in a separate hall. The production of organic wine is increasing in all the winegrowing regions of the world. The leader is Italy with 37,000 ha of organic viticulture, followed by France with 15,000 ha, corresponding to 4 % and 2 % of the winegrowing area respectively. The 12,000 ha in Spain represent 1 % in terms of area and Germany has 2,000 ha of organic vineyards, which also corresponds to 1 % of the area. Organic winegrowers still wishing to take part in the open competition for the BioFach 2005 International Wine Award should hurry up.
